A Milieu EP created and released in celebration of the first anniversary of the Milieu Music Fan Club! Three tracks, the first two created using only sounds and sequences from the Korg DS-10 cartridge on the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming system, with the third track being plucked from the Milieu Music archives and dusted off - a melodic improvisation on the Arturia Microbrute and Korg Volca Bass from January 2016, which bears some resemblance to the recent Zelda-themed Milieu album, and probably also Statuettes.
While recording the EP, memories of Autumn were conjured up, specifically October 2015, when I brought my wife, my daughter and one of my best friends to a log cabin in Black Mountain, North Carolina, to get away from the flooding and hurricane weather in Columbia at the time, and also to see Autechre perform in Asheville. It was a wonderful break from the craziness and I have wanted to go back ever since. This EP is the closest I can manage, in the meantime.
